Membership
Benefits of membership include:
CORNERSTONE CLUES This publication of the society is printed quarterly. Each issue contains valuable information in the field of genealogy. For example, Bible, Cemetery, Court, Tax, Military, and Census records as well as family histories are included in each issue. Members are invited to submit queries for publication in the CLUES. Bible records are also requested for use therein. Members who want to have their name, address, email address, and/or phone number published along with their query, must submit a signed Permission Form giving us authorization to publish such information. This "Permission Form" is included in the Request for Publication Form.
RESEARCH SERVICES Our volunteer staff provides free research service for its members. Our only charge is for postage as well as $0.25 for each photocopy. Please note that this service is for members only (effective August 1, 2002). Our staff does not search outside of our library. If you wish a search made in the Courthouse or other libraries, you will need a researcher. We do not recommend any particular researchers, but we will be glad to supply the name(s) and address(es) of people who are interested in researching for a fee.
A few search guidelines will be very helpful in directing our search, if known:
1. Full name of the person / family about whom you are asking.
2. Gives dates: birth, death, marriages, etc. (or approximate)
3. Give the town or townships where this person / family resided.
4. If known, give any relevant
names: for example,
the surname of a spouse, children's names, or names of children's
spouses.
MONTHLY MEETINGS General Membership Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month with the exception of December. Information regarding each meeting appears on our Calendar. These meetings are open to the public as well as the membership.
