Our Library is attached to Greene County’s 1797 Log Courthouse, which we are pleased to tour with you.  We are a licensed affiliate of FamilySearch’s research & library system.

Waynesburg Republican Newspaper Digitization Project.  We are fund raising to make the Republican (RP), 1870-1992, available on the net in a word-searchable format.  Click below for a taste of the searchable RP: 1951, 1955, 1962-63, 1980-85.

FEATURE RESEARCH–(click below for past articles, as well as this most recent offering). The search to fill out the family tree requires sleuthing and tenacity. Websites visited: newspapers.com, Find A Grave, Facebook and, of course, Google. Surnames cited: Hamilton, Dulaney, Carpenter, Taylor, Goodlette, L’hote, Mitchell, Simpson, Tennant, Wilson.

GREENE CONNECTIONS

We encourage a visit to our Sister website: thousands of family and Greene County archival items such as photographs, letters, pension records, diaries, Justice of the Peace dockets, maps, and more have been shared by families and repositories.  The Archives are indexed and searchable, its items identified.  A blog of articles by Greene Connections creator Candice Buchanan has recently been added.

Greene Connections has a vibrant Public Group on Facebook, with over 5,000 followers: large numbers of  obits, historic newspaper clippings, photos, queries and comments have accumulated over the past 10 years, are augmented regularly, and are name-searchable.
